Where to Eat Near the Lucas Museum: Argentine Asado & Empanadas Minutes from Exposition Park
The Lucas Museum of Narrative Art opened its doors in Exposition Park on September 22, and our neighborhood has a new reason to celebrate. If you're planning a visit, here's some good news: real Argentine food, cooked over fire, is just a few minutes away.
Where to find us
Fuegos LA is at 3957 S Western Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90062, about a mile and a half west of the museum. It's a quick five-minute drive, or an easy hop on Metro.
By car: head west from Exposition Park toward Western Ave. Most visitors are here in about five minutes.
By Metro: the E Line connects the two. Ride from Expo Park/USC two stops west to Expo/Western, then walk about ten minutes south on Western.
Also nearby: USC, the Coliseum, BMO Stadium and the Natural History Museum, so we're an easy stop on any game day or museum day.
Before the museum: coffee and medialunas
We open at 9am Tuesday through Saturday. Start your day the Argentine way with a latte or yerba mate and our homemade medialunas, plain, with ham and cheese, or filled with dulce de leche. A breakfast empanada is a solid choice if you've got a long day of galleries ahead.
After the museum: dinner by the fire
On Friday and Saturday we stay open until 11pm, so there's plenty of time for a proper dinner after a full afternoon of art and film. A few things we'd point you to:
Empanadas baked fresh, hand-cut beef, a guest favorite
Choripán straight off the parrilla, with chimichurri
Bife de chorizo or entraña, Argentine cuts grilled over open fire
Provoleta, grilled provolone to share at the table
Milanesa, the comfort classic every Argentine grew up on
Dulce de leche ice cream or flan to finish
Check the full menu, or reserve a table if you're coming with a group.
Bringing the whole crew?
Planning a museum outing with friends, family or your team? We host groups at the restaurant, and we also bring the fire to you. Our open-fire asado experience sets up a real parrilla at your home or event, with an asador grilling Argentine beef in front of your guests. For drop-off trays of empanadas and more, see our catering options.
Disconnect to connect
Fuegos is a little piece of Argentina in South LA, a place to slow down, share a table and talk about what you just saw. After a day of stories at the Lucas Museum, come tell yours over empanadas and a glass of Malbec. We'll keep the fire going.
